eCommerce SEO Services Gauteng | Get Your Online Store Found by Shoppers Ready to Buy

If your online store isn’t appearing on Google when people search for what you sell, you’re losing sales every day to competitors whose product pages rank higher than yours.

Why eCommerce SEO Is Different from Regular SEO

Running an online store comes with a unique SEO challenge: you might have hundreds or even thousands of product pages, and each one needs to be optimised individually for Google to rank it. A product page that isn’t optimised is essentially invisible. Someone types “buy noise-cancelling headphones South Africa” into Google, and if your product page doesn’t come up, that sale goes to a competitor.

eCommerce SEO is about making your product pages, category pages, and collection pages appear in Google when shoppers search for what you sell. It also covers technical issues unique to online stores, like duplicate content from product variants, and the correct structure for Google Shopping.

Every sale your store makes from organic Google traffic costs you nothing per click, unlike paid ads. Building a strong eCommerce SEO strategy means building a revenue stream that keeps growing without increasing your advertising spend.

⚠ Signs You Have This Problem
  • Your product pages don’t appear in Google when people search for what you sell
  • You’re spending heavily on Google Shopping ads but have almost no organic traffic
  • Bigger competitors rank above you for every product keyword
  • Your store has hundreds of pages but very few of them rank for anything
  • Your product descriptions are duplicated across multiple pages
  • You get traffic to your homepage but not to individual product or category pages

How to Check if Your Product Pages Rank on Google

This quick test shows you whether your store is capturing organic shoppers or depending entirely on paid ads.

Run this test for three of your best-selling products or categories:

1
Open an incognito window and search for one of your products the way a buyer would search for it. For example: “buy leather wallet South Africa” or “Nike running shoes Johannesburg.” Is your store on page 1 for any of these searches?
2
Now look at how Google shows the results. Do any results have a product image, price, and star rating directly in the search results? That’s Google Shopping rich results, and it requires proper structured data on your product pages. If competitors have this and you don’t, they’re getting significantly more clicks.
3
Visit one of your product pages and look at the page title in your browser tab. Does it say the product name, your store name, and ideally the price range? Or does it say something generic like “Product 1234” or just your store name?
4
Go to Google Search Console and look at your top-performing pages by clicks. Are any product pages or category pages in the list? If it’s only your homepage, your product pages aren’t ranking.

How We Optimise Your eCommerce Store

1
Store SEO Audit
We crawl your entire store looking for duplicate content, missing titles, slow pages, broken links, and indexing issues unique to eCommerce platforms.
2
Product & Category Keyword Research
We find the exact search terms shoppers use to find your type of products and map them to your existing pages.
3
Product Page Optimisation
We rewrite product titles, descriptions, and metadata so Google understands exactly what each product is and who should see it.
4
Category Page SEO
We optimise your category and collection pages, which are often the highest-traffic pages in an online store, with targeted content and proper structure.
5
Structured Data for Rich Results
We add product schema markup so your listings can show with images, prices, and star ratings directly in Google results, boosting your click-through rate significantly.
6
Speed & Mobile Optimisation
We optimise your store’s load speed and mobile experience since most shoppers are on phones and slow stores have very high abandonment rates.
